After delivery of your placenta it needs to be washed of any fecal matter, have it doubled bag and placed in a small Igloo ice chest with an ice pack and refrigerated.
If your placenta needs to be taken to pathology ask that they cut only a small section of the placenta for biopsy. If they insist on examining the entire placenta, it is important that they keep it refrigerated and absolutely no solutions are to be used in their examination. If solutions are used, the placenta is no longer viable for encapsulation.

The placenta preparation process is based on Traditional Chinese Medical Theory. In TCM it is understood that after birth the women’s body is cold and deficient and needs to be warmed and strengthen. During normal labor a women can lose up to 550cc of blood.
The first step in the encapsulation process is to gently wash the placenta. Then we steam the placenta over ginger and green onions providing the warming effects to the placenta. The steamed placenta is then dehydrated, ground, and put into capsules. We use all vegetarian capsules! >> Back to Top
